CLINICAL PROFILE OF NONALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE PATIENTS IN WAHIDIN SUDIROHUSODO HOSPITAL

ABSTRACT

Background. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is often associated with obesity, type II diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and hypertension. Among 15-40%, NAFLD is being recognized as a major cause of liverrelated morbidity and mortality in the general population. Assessment of risk factor are required for promotive, preventive, and early detection which needed for management high risk population

Materials and methods. This research is a descriptive study of NAFLD patients who diagnosed between 2018-2020 in Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital. There are 47 patients diagnosed as fatty liver disease by abdominal ultrasonography (aged more than 18 years) were included in the study. Information on patients, sociodemographic profile, Nutritional status and serum markers including lipid profile, AST, ALT, ureum, creatinine were estimated in each patient. Diagnosis of NAFLD was made using ultrasonography. Data were presented with SPSS software version 21

Results. 47 cases were diagnosed as NAFLD by abdominal USG, 55.3% were female and 44.7% male with median age 49 y.o and showed 80.9%, 10.6% and 8.5% of cases are grade I, II, and III fatty liver. On physical examination mean BMI 28.27 ±4.63 kg/m2. According to serum markers include lipid profile mean cholestrol 204.19 ±41.1, HDL 42.26 ±12.66, LDL 140.96 ±41.2, TG 167.91 ±77.5.

Conclusion. Profile of NAFLD patients in Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital were mainly elderly, Women, Obese and high lipid profile patient.
